I turned this bowl from a lovely log of Laurel from National Trust Ashridge Estate. The Laureal was planted to beautify the old track to the house at Ashridge and needs to be cut back often to keep it from taking over. It's rare to get a big enough bit of laurel to woodturn so this was a bit of a treat. I turned the wood whilst it was wet so as it dried the bowl moved, giving the lip a wavy appearance.
